Mend Hotpoint FDAL 28 Dishwasher Aquarius Rinse Aid

How can I make the rinse aid light go out when container full ? ?

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius Dishwasher model FDAL 28 which appears to be working OK, but the rinse aid empty light stays on even though the container has recently been filled. How can this be overcome ? I am a competent mechanic/electrician.
