Central locking/unlocking problems?

One option may be to manually set the door locks to unlock then try the central locking. To do this open any door and you will find a small black thingy above where the lock fitting is. You can turn this to lock or unlock with a screwdriver or the key that manually opens the passenger door. Maybe trying different options of lock and unlock will right it.'

check to see if your courtesy lights work with the drivers door, some cars have micro switches in the lock mechanism that fail & need replacing (mostly V.A.G models) others have pin switches that return to earth, they need removed, cleaned on the contactor inside & refitted to remake the connection.
It could also be a relay in a module, really depends on the make model & year!
