Mend Remove Alarm System Just

Can i remove a PIR from the Alarm system by just disconnecting it? ?

I have had a new french door fitted and the old PIR is no longer needed. I was going to disconnect and put the wire behind my coving. Will this affect the alarm if i do this?

yes it will,as soon as you remove the cover you will create a tamper unless you have the engineering code you wont be able to reset the system,unless its a cheap system,and the electrician who fitted it wont have put the engineering code in so it may reset with the user code
