How to clean a hotpoint wmd740 ultima?

There isn't a bad smell in the washing machine but after the cycle has finished my clothes have NO smell. The clothes looked washed but It doesn't smell of detergent or fabric softer.
I though maybe I was too used to the smells and have changed the brand of detergent but still no smell. I have both increased and decreased how much I use and the wash loads are not too big either.
I have done several hot washes with soda crystals and white vinegar to freshen up my machine but nothing seems to work
