Cannon Carrick double oven - top oven refuses to ignite any ideas?

The top oven refuses to ignite although the gas is coming through and the ignition sound is there. Am getting so frustrated, have checked the manual and there is nothing regarding this problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?
