Macdee pneumatic cistern leaks water down the flush pipe?

After filling to the 6 litre mark a very small leakage occurs down flush pipe and not from the overflow. Checked rubber seal for imperfections etc but seem OK. The unit has been in place for 8 years with no problem till now. Only discovered when small external leak found from the flush pipe.
