My Defy Laundromaid leaks. Stripped the drain pump. Need help? ?

Constant leak during filling up or draining. I suspected it was coming from the drain pump. I stripped it and found that the seal where the motor spindle spins doesn't seal tightly. There were signs of a leak at the spot as well - Grime. That seal has a tiny round spring which I suspect goes around the seal. I cleaned all the hair and fluff from the around the spindle but I'm not sure if that is the problem so without a replacement seal to test it I put it back together but its still leaking.

Any suggestions.
