boot wont close?

I have a Renault megan 2.0 ,53 plate coupe cabriolet and my locking mechanism on the boot wont engage so now i cant lock my car and am having to hold the boot down with duck tape. I have tried using a screw driver to see if it will lock but it will not click into the locking position and it just spring back.the locking button works as when i press it ,i can here it . Anyone have an ideas as Renault are very pricey and my previous experience with them was almost criminal
