Mend Siemens XLP 1400 Start Cycle Button Stays

Siemens XLP 1400 won't start and is stuck at end of cycle?

My Siemens XLP 1400 seems to be stuck at the end of a cycle and keeps bleeping. The pre-wash button stays depressed and the light on permanently, and no other buttons seem to work - maybe because of this.

I have tried to turn the machine off and on again, at the dial and plug. The pre-wash light goes out, but comes on again immediately power is restored. I have tried programming for a new wash, but the cycle won't start.

Please can you help me?

The first thing to happen is that water enters the machine - no water entering then it will sit and wait for water and in your case pre-wash which very probably requires water.

It may well be that the water inlet valve is defective - but I am not an appliance engineer - I just speculate.

These valves are inexpensive and very easy to replace.
