Mend Russell Hobbs 26083 Kettle

Russell Hobbs kettle M4101?

My kettle has worked perfectly for many years, but suddenly the thermostat cuts out just before it reaches full boiling point, then after a pause starts again, then cuts out again. How can I repair ? I would hate to have to throw it away...
