Candy GO DC 218 Condenser Tumble Dryer - no heat?

The dryer works perfectly, except that the Clean Filter light remains on and there is no heat. The filter is perfectly clean, but as far as I can see there is no Reset switch on this machine, so it is not possible to cancel this wrong message. Are the two faults related - (1) Clean Filter light on (2) Heater not working? I don't care if the Clean Filter light remains on provided it doesn't stop the heater from coming on.
