Flashing U light?

How can I carry out a functional test on the over speed governor/safety gear switch on Minivator 950, 2000, and 1000 Stair Lifts
Also on Stannah 400, 420, and 260. where can I obtain information on functional testing of these and other types of stairlifts with over speed governors without having to resort to considerable dismantling of the stairlift in order to carry out such tests. Diagrams of the configuration of these internal arrangements would be welcome together with documentary instructions.

The flashing 'U' light that appears indicates that there is no float charge. This is a fault that requires power supply replacement. This is the small black box that will be mounted along skirting at one end of the rail.
