The freezer should run at 0 Degrees Fahrenheit or Minus 18 Centigrade.
A fridge should run a few degrees above freezing so that the things you put in don't freeze - From 10 degrees C down to 4 or 5 - no colder else stuff at the back might freeze solid.
In the fridge is a cold plate - Ice may form on it - now and again a heater automatically melts the ice and the melt water runs out through a small hole in the back wall - if the hole blocks you get puddles of water.
Set your control to the mid-way point and see what happens - it's your choice where you set it - try not to let your milk freeze.
