Mend Renault Clio Remote Locking

Renault Clio 1996 N Reg - Remote Locking issue, PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!?

I Have a 1996 Renault Clio with remote central locking. When I squeeze the key, the light on the key lights up. However it seems that the frequency receiver does not recieve the signal to de-activate the immoboliser or unlock the doors. Obviously I can unlock the door with the key, but i cannot de-activate the immoboliser. Your suggestions would be highly appreciated. Does anyone know if there is a way of removing the immoboliser comletely, I can live without the remote locking.........................................

have you tried changing the battery in the key fob,the light will come on even if the batt is low but it may not have enough power to activate the system.Change the battery on your key first before spending money.
