G reg leyland daf lorry oil light come on tonight but there is oil in wagon I checked and re checked however the oil light comes on when stationary or foot off accelerator - it goes off the second I put my foot on accelerator - any advice and can I still drive it as it def has the right oil and correct levels in
If the light never used to come on at tick over before then it sounds as if the pressure has dropped. Is it due for an oil and filter change? Have you replaced the filter with a sub-standard pattern replacement rather than a genuine quality filter?

Oil warning lights show low oil pressure when illuminated - they do not indicate oil quantity.
Oil pressure is proportional to engine revs
If the light goes out when you're driving - then all is well - unless the bulb has failed - so it's good to see the light come on when stationary or at low revs.
Good luck...
