Another great browser to try:
Forefox. At least as fast as Chrome, often faster.
On both Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer, install the Adblock plus addon. It's realy great at sanitizing the web.
You may also take a look at the NoScript addon. It allow you to controll exactly whitch scripts are allowed to run and from what sites. White and black list based.

You don't need the paid version of Malwarebyte. The free version have everything you need.

Download the free utility IOBIT uninstaller - and use that.

Disable everything scheduled to run automatically at start time - the startup tab in your Task Manager (right click on task bar at bottom of screen)

If you're not using it already make Google Chrome your default browser and install the gadget Disconnect - stops snooping.

Download and run the free version of Malwarebytes it warns you about suspicious web sites - consider upgrading to the paid version.

Remove any application you never use or are likely to use
