How can I fix the oven button?

Gosh, I have put almost the same question in regarding my Beko Oven. It has been working OK for years. I press the control knob and the ignition button, oven lights up and goes out. Have tried with matches, same. Phoned Beko spoke to out of warranty section, but call-out would be too expensive, also e-mailed and phoned 5 different gas engineers, one quoted me £70 first visit and if he had to come back £40. Extra for parts, so I said no thanks. The others didn't respond or didn't do ovens.

What have you done about your oven? Will let you know if I get any results.
