How can I fix my AEG Favorit 44080i Dishwasher? - Water inlet issue?

Hi All,
I've browsed around and can't find anything relating to this issue, so any advice would be most appreciated.
Basically, the dishwasher was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago when it just will not fill with water; it drains fine having filled it with water manually and switched on, all the water gets drained away.
I've replaced the aqua stop tube as I thought this was the problem as I could see the voltage being sent to the tube to open the valve (used multi-meter) but it did not let any water in. Same problem after spending £50 on new tube.
I've now opened up the sides as well as the back and I cannot see any obvious reasons for the problem.
The lights flash in so-called sequence 1 which is the water inlet fault.... Water is definitely coming out of the pipes to the aqua stop tube as I switched the tap on and happily got lots of water pouring out before I reconnected the tube and continued on.....
Anyone got any words of wisdom? I sure hope so. Could really do with our dishwasher working again as I have a family of five and it's driving me and the wife crazy.
