whirlpool 6th sense saying the water tap closed?

I have had an engineer from whirlpool out to look at my machine today and he said the problem is the water pressure being too low and the machine is filling very slowly. He said the machine times out because taking too long to fill. I can see the water is only trickling in but don't understand why as my dishwasher works just fine, and the taps run fast. The engineer left without doing anything to resolve the issue. What should I do?
