refig not cooling ?

I have a whirlpool refrigerator mod # gs6haxms00 last night the light went out in the refig compartment. I thought no big needs new bulb the fan was running in freezer . By morning things were defrosting so I checked in the back the fan to the compressor not running and compressor not running I had no power to either one but the freezer fan still ran . I unpluged the unit waited a minute plugged it bk in and all started working it cooled for about 7 hrs then it did the same thing . someone said it is the bottom control board w10135090 I hate to throw 180.00 dollars at a guess
