Take the carb off and unscrew the float bowl,possibly the float is punctured(rare) or the height of the float is wrong(also rare)or you will get away with a good cleanout of the carb,(most probable unless your unlucky)or at worst a new main jet,pennies.Good luck,it's not terminal!
