Mend Hotpoint Aqualtis Washing Machine Household Appliances

Help!!!!?

I have a hotpoint aqualtis washing machine.

When the door is shut I select which programme I want to use. Then when I push the start button the washing machine clicks and then goes onto pause...

I'm hopeful that it's something simple.

Please help!
