my nissan micra?

how do i know if my clutch packed up, car just went dead, doesnt want to start, burnt smell, but the light do go on tho. what to do.

I don`t know why you think it is the clutch for not starting but have had faulty dual mass flywheels affecting the crank sensor which could be clutch related,you don`t say if it is cranking over or not,ie battery?
