petrol strimmer shaft has moved out?

hi my qualcast petrol strimmer te30h had grass wrapped around the shaft between the head and the shaft which has forced the strimmer to stop spinning now...by that i mean the cable inside no longer engages into the secondary cable which goes into the engine due to the shaft end now protruding from the bottom of the shaft..is there any way to fix this ?
