Why no wash on Hotpoint Wf541 after putting new door seal in?
I've just replaced the plastic door seal on a Hotpoint WF 541. Everything went great, then closed door started cycle then light went straight into "wash", no door lock light and then nothing. Tried a gentle slam a couple of times as I thought the rubber probably needs bedding in but still nothing. When I turn it back on the light stays on "wash" and nothing, no water coming in or anything. I was careful putting everything in, and the lock seems sturdy (not loose.) Any ideas? Can I reset the cycle?
doorseal is the issue mate. peel it back from the front panel, get a soapy sponge and wipe over the aperture, then use again on the front lip of the seal, get soap right into the fold. refit to the front panel. you should find it sits a lot better, shoul cure it

Looks like it might be the locking device as by slamming the door hard a couple of times I got it to work. kid it worth getting a new lock or will it right itself in time?
