Our 59 reg Ford Fiesta pax door handle is stuck out, I can remove the handle (easy job 1 screw) and replace it in the normal position. The handle then work OK to release the door but it will not return, there is something stopping it retracting. Does anyone have any ideas?

On some fords there is an inner mechanism which transfers the operation of the outer handle to the door latch,on there is a spring loaded lever with a pin and sometimes the pin seizes causing the door handle to not return fully,the door card has to come off for a look and get in there with some lubricant to free off,sorry if I am wrong but it is worth a look,good luck
