Does it make more noise than before?
If it run hoter than usual, you need to check the air vents and duckts. Also, check the fans.
Any dust or other foreign material in the air duckts will impede air flow, causing the laptop to get to hot.
Any dust in/on the heat sink of the CPU will cause it to get hoter.
All that dust must be removed periodicaly.
You must also make sure that the air vents are free of any obstruction.
NEVER EVER use the laptop while it rest on any soft cushion or any similar place.
If the fans are quiet despite the laptop getting hot, they may be defective. Check that they are working correctly. It's possible that a debrit could be preventing a fan from working, or that a fan got disconnected. If a fan is blocked by something, remove that obstruction. If a fan is disconnected, reconnect it and check if it still work. Replace ANY fan that don't seem to work properly. It's beter to replace a working fan by a new one than keeping a faulty one.
If the air vents are clean and unobstructed and the fan are working properly, you may opt to invest in a ventilated laptop base, also called laptop cooler.
