Mend Candy Aquaviva 1300 Washing Programme Stopped

How can I fix my Candy Aquaviva 1300 washing machine?

The programme selector dial has stopped moving leaving the cycle -although still working doesn't move on.
This can only be done by manually turning the selector knob
