Mend Singer 221 Power Cable Wall

Test a Singer Featherweight 221 without pedal?

Is there a way I can "hotwire" a Singer Featherweight 221 using just a power cable with a wall plug on one end and wire on the other (meaning, which two of the three prongs on the Featherweight do I connect the ac wire to?) I have two machines and I want to test if they work before I buy pedals.
