Miele W 504 How to Replace the heater element please?

hi tom the element is situated at the front of the drum. To access it there are 2 types of machine design... if you have 1 hex bolt in the doorway at the 6 o'clock position then remove the bottom kickplate, remove the 2 screws left and right bottom of front panel, take wire spring ring off front of door rubber and release rubber front edge, remove 2 screws holding door interlock, undo the hex bolt in doorway and front machine panel will drop down to reveal the element. If you have 3 hex bolts in the doorway... remove these bolts, remove soap box remove screws on facia at soapbox area front panel will hinge open from the left side when you release the spring clip bottom left and the drain elbow from the filter. How do you know the element is faulty if you have not got to it though? Cheers
