vectra jsii cd 2000 v6?

Did not think it was the belt as per inspection, belt was fine, started but drops out on idle after replacing sensors as per mechanic and still wont idle, given up spending and now working on another car! Maybe a bent valve or something internal as it sounds to mechanic as though needs timing belt realigned so more hours and more money, not best option as it could be another possible 5 sensors aswell after fixing that problem.

It sounded like something such as the belt spinning around under the bonnet ie the washing machine noise, the drive belt is fine, tensioner was replaced with crank angle sensor about 6000kms ago, oil and filter just changed less than 500 kms, now on 225000kms got it at 216000, not yet done plugs and leads. Had re-check done after fitting Coil Pack, it sounded prior to that like running on 2 cyl and backfired when revved, wouldn't idle then either. 2nd mechanic suggested may something inside the motor. will need to tow to a workshop but still not sure if it my be sensor problem or plugs?

What makes you think you have belt problems? Is your timing belt/tensioner ok?
