Belt is in place motor sounds noisier than usual and making a whining noise. Heater working ok - no sign of fluff - no rattling and no smell of burning

take back panels off at the back bottom area and find a large capacitor attached to the motor via wiring.that may be faulty.without test meter only way is to replace or carefully remove the top.start the tumble dryer running and carefully push the drum by hand to help it rotate.B very careful doing this!!!.if it then continues to rotate until direction changed you can assume that capacitor is faulty
