Getting frustrated is an understatement...more stronger I would say.
I was connected on my lap top to my grandson but the sound broke up and his picture was rubbish so said I'll try the PC. I opened the account and got the MY ACCOUNT page and cannot find my way to the contacts page so I can make a video call. All the Account page seems to want is me to buy credits for cheap calls and I get that already with BT having worked for GPO/BT 26yrs with no DISCOUNT tight isn't the word.
First, to get to normal Skype page from your account page
When you are in your account you should see a notice saying it seems you are visiting web from your Skype app. If you want to go back to your app. click here
click on this and a window will open asking to accept or not click on yes and your normal Skype page should open
First thing is to check that you and your grandson are using the latest Skype update
both you and him should check this, click on help then on check for updates a message will display telling you if you have the latest update, if not it will ask you to download it from there.
if you both are using the latest Click on help, from the drop down menu click
heartbeat, page will open and you can check the function comments to see if everything
is working OK.
If all is OK there, Click help and then call quality guide, here you will
find an array of things to check for.

Breaking sound and bad image can have numerous causes.
- Some temporary problem on your computer. Usualy some background task starting and hugging the CPU. Normaly, it will clear up by itself after some time.
- Some similar problem on your grandson's computer.
- Some transmition problem between your computer and your grandson's. Possibly some conjestion on the internet.
- If you have cable internet, to many transferts in your area as the bandwidth is shared between the residents of your neibourhood. The same can affect your grandson.
