Mend Corsa Wont Change Gear

Easytronic 2002 corsa. Wont change from 2nd gear?

My wife has a 2002 easytronic Corsa. It starts ok and moves from 1st to 2nd ok then to get a change to 3rd you need to speed up to 40mph. no more gears are selected after this. The engine management light is on and you cannot select manual.
