Sony STR-K740P?

i have power, it just keeps blinking the word "protect", and thats telling me there a short circut somewhere. So i unplugged everything and i let it sit for a while and reconnceted all the speaker wires jacks and still it blinks "protect". Any suggestions? Thank you.

1 - A CAR STEREO / IF IT IS PROTECT MAY BE A PASSWORD USED FOR ANTITHEFT.
2 - HOME STEREO / SAYS PROTECT , CHECK WIRING AGAIN
TRY HOOKING UP ONE SPEAKER AT A TIME TO FIND OUT WHICH ONE IS BLOWN.
IF THAT DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE, YOU HAVE INTERNAL PROBLEMS
