my 2010 amish heatsurge flames wont flicker. ?

I checked the roller with the foil pieces on it and the roller is in place just not turning. Before it quite working I heard a squeaking noise as the roller was turning for quite a while, several months, then the flames just quite flickering. Everything else is working fine. Any suggestions? I'm a woman by myself and cant really afford to take it in somewhere, no pickup either. Any help would be great.
