Ford Iveco lorry 180 - 12tonne?

When driven at max speed (on the speed limiter ) or up long hills the temp rises about 90 degrees c or more. When driven at a steady 50mph it runs at around 70 degrees C, normal. My thoughts are it is the thermo stat as the vehicle cools quickly when engine revs are reduced.
