Mend Creda Continental Oven Electric Repair

creda double oven - part blows/ trips main fuse ?

CREDA CONTINENTAL Double Oven

When the top oven is switched on it will then trip the main household fuse box. When fuse re-set the main fan oven works & the grill seems OK but again the top oven trips the fuse out; so I cannot use it at all.

Is there a simple repair or is it a call out job?

the element has blown just replace it never ever use electrical tape in an oven it will melt

You have a short circuit in the top oven whiring.
It may be a problem with an element, a faulty thermostat or a frayed whire somewhere.

IF you have the right tools and material, you may attempt the repair. It involve carefully inspecting all the whiring of the top oven and replacing any damageds whire or maybe some heavy use of electric tape.
If there are no damaged whire, check the thermostat. Disconnect the whire going OUT from the thermostat to the elements and turn on. If the breaker trips, change the thermostat.
Otherwise, your heating element is deffective and need replacing.

In your place I'd call a repairman. He would probably do the job faster and beter.
