it randomly chooses to open but mostly does not. I have pulled out the drawer, spring is in tact w/nothing behind it, lever seemed to be working, don't hear it engage when not working.
Usually a faulty solenoid or MPU in this model. They don't last well since they are so cheap. It's often best to bin it as repair may cost as much as another machine
