Mend Alko Swift Challenger Grateful Light Problem

How to unhitch my caravan!!!!?

I would be grateful if anyone can throw light on this problem I have with the Alko Stabiliser on my Swift Challenger Caravan? When I come to unhitch it will not budge from the ball joint despite every effort I have made and then obviously it suddenly does for no apparent reason! When I wind up the jockey wheel it lifts the car as well.
