pto?

I have a L120 I just replaced the blades and went to start it, I had to jump it,( Which I have done many times) It didnt want ah turn over fast enough so I cranked the truck to juice it a bit. It finally started and was runin fine. So I go on it and started to cut grass, but when I pull PTO nothn .... so I put it in park so when I go of it wouldnt cut off. when I got around the side of the mower it died... Elc ... I check the fuse , its k ... is it possible the PTO switch shorted ? would that ah made the mower cut off as well? and how hard is it to check? hope its not a costly screw up ? thanks for any help .....
