It has one jumper that says " LINK" And it does Nothing just cheap crap and back in 1996 We fitted a lot of the Ventcroft classic is it? They had like an American fire truck sound but since then they've been upgraded as I've noticed...

There the one's I had the problem with only in 2009 these became a problem sounders making high frequency noises when triggered

YES ! I Have seen the new led strobes ADT's new trash bell box's have them also. crazy.

Have a look at the sounder options on the pcb nick and see if it has the "sweep" mode?,

If it has then run the sounder on this setting and have a jolly good laugh.

Sounds like a constipated cow :D

Ps mate the vision extreme is also tat but at least they have proper strobe tubes instead of the led strobe's like most now.

Think there's three 2watt xenon's on them been a while since I've had a play :),

We haven't had no probs with tex 3e's but each to their own but if we have takeover with one that faults it's straight out and up goes a quartz.

We not replace like for like :)

One sounder I can't stand and that's the odyssey ! hate the range so much

was working on 4 rough flats the other week all had veritas 8 compacts fitted contacts missing off all the doors anyway The sounders looked familiar to the ventcroft sounders a slimmer version twin red led's anyway I brought them home with me to have a gander at and there that tat when the strobe is activated the only way for it to work is to put an inch screw above the strobe tube tat is not the word !!

Best advice I can give on this one is to trace and correct the tamper,

I agree with nick though number one suspect sounder tamper.
