do I remove the filter when I use a Aquvac to suck water?

I need to clean water from a carpet.I would use a
Aqua Vac , would I need to remove the filter to suck water

If you mean the 70mm approx foam filter in the intake directly under the motor head-The answer is no. Just make sure you have removed the dust bag and have the ball float valve in place
