Mend Kenwood A177 Mixer Screws

How do I mend my Kenwood A177 Handheld Mixer?

The 3 position switch was jammed. Removing the 3 screws enabled the case to be split. Once split the switch was free to move. Examining the switch mechanism nothing appeared to be broken. When reassembling the case the prong release button appeared to interfere with the sliding switch. Any reassembly tips would be welcome!!!!
