my radio stuck in phone mode?

i just bought a 2001 mondeo ghia x, the battery was dead and after starting it input the radio code and then it displayed phone mode, i can insert a cd and take it out but nothing else, as far as i can tell theres no bluetooth or phone connection anywhere in the car can anyone please help
