Remote version 9 won't work?

Fairly new remote bought about 2 months ago and it just stopped working. No red light nothing. Tried the camera test nothing tried holding select button for 60 secs nothing opened it up and clean as a whistle inside no breaks in soldered bits could the LCD light gone. What else can I try to kick some life into it?
