The cams have a slot in the rear ends that a flat plate slots in and only goes one way.the crank depends on varient of enjin,some have mark on pully,verry small notch these are best cos the pully is locked to the crank in one position,the other has a bolt in the block that you remove then place a special locking tool to set the crank position cos when you releas the bottom pully the crank is not locked to the belt so there is no timing mark,when you do eather you also releas the cam wheels so all loos,and replace all 3 bolts,and ensure corect torque settings corect or total failure and corect bolts and renew tensioner & idlers thay will fail ,
