Our Stannah 260 Curved not working properly?

hello, we have got a stannah 260 model, when on charging contact , the charge light flickers and beeps, we have put new batteries in as the stairlift wouldnt go up, Now does with new batteries, also when stairlift travels up or down , it beeps all the way up and down,
could any 1 help, or might know whats wrong, Stannah wants £145.00 call-out, thank you in advanced
