Freelander radio code?

I have a 4 digit radio code and the radio is asking for a 5 digit code.
Also the code has an 8 in it and the radios numbers only go up to 7? I am confused.
I went to local Landrover dealer and they came back with a different 4 digit code and still it does not work.
Can anyone help please
