Hi my storage heater was recently removed by painters and fixed back. Now it starts but only stays on for sometime and then the fuse trips.....can someone suggest
I understand that is what he did....but my radiator does get on...and after getting heated for a while trips off....whereas the other heater that was not removed is working fine.....I called the painter and tod him the problem....and he suggested that may be its the connections that have been connected incorrectly and he will come and see.....

people will insist on moving the heaters without taking the bricks out,it could be that the bricks have damaged the elements when it was laid down,the only way is to strip it down and check

Thanks 0161electrician. They just took it off the wall and replaced it....they did not open it.....

if they removed it they must have taken out the bricks and elements. check these have been correctly refitted firstly. it sounds like an element is breaking down after it is heating. if you see any distortion in the element casing - change it. if you have a megga, then check the insulation resistance.
